This page also confirms the existence of PETA's "Activist Defense Fund, which helps pay the legal fees of individuals accused of liberation-related activities." Indeed, PETA spent $7,500 defending a woman who ended up pleading guilty to attempted murder in 1989 and over $70,000 unsuccessfully defending an arsonist in 1995.
